The Barefoot Mission Board is a group of people that believe in the power of presence-that transformation happens when you do life together. We believe in taking risks for the sake of humanity, we are rooted in the love of Jesus, and we are committed to being people who actively engage in the restoration of this world.
Taylor has worked in ministry for the OP Church since 2013. She is married to her best friend, Jimmy Penrod, who partners in mission and ministry. She is passionate about seeing the church mobilize to bring restoration to their families, communities, and neighborhoods.
Caroline does bookkeeping for US Salt, LLC. She is extremely family orientated and enjoys spending time with her husband, Dennis, and their four children. Caroline is passionate, organized, and driven. She uses her gift of numbers and organization to serve in non-profits and church initiatives. Caroline finds joy in being part of and supporting passionate and hard-working teams.
Sandy is a retired business owner of Penguins Florist and Brooks Publishing, that she co-owned with her late husband, Jeff. She now spends her free time serving the community with Barefoot Mission, blessing others with her gift of hospitality, and engaging in mentoring youth through the Olathe Schools lunch buddy program. She is passionate about giving everyone a place at the “table.”
Scott opens and directs physical therapy clinics in his position with Physical Therapy By Phoenix & Phoenix Home Care Hospice. He is married to his wife, Diadra, and they have three sons that live justice-driven lives. They actively open their home for respite care through our local foster care agency. Scott thrives by being around different types of people and perspectives.
Helen is a full-time college student approaching graduation. She is enthusiastic about the non-profit world and watching it change the city in positive ways. She has had the privilege of watching her father direct Dayton Moore’s foundation, C You in the Major Leagues. Helen is passionate about being surrounded by people who work to change the world for better.
Beth is a pediatrician at Vibrant Health. She and her husband have three children and live out south on lots of land with ponds, horses, and beautiful sunsets. She is passionate about foster care and supporting foster parents. She finds joy in long bike rides and seeing others grow in their relationship with God.
Ryan is a Strategic Account Manager for eShipping. He and his wife, Heather, have three little boys. Ryan enjoys supporting various charities around Kansas City that bring hope and healing to people in need. He finds joy in watching the curiosity of his little boys unfold. He is passionate about serving where he is called.
Olivia is from Lincoln, Nebraska and the oldest of eight kids that she calls her best friends alongside her mom and dad. She graduated from York College in 2020 with a degree in Theatre and Communications. Not long after graduation she moved to Abilene, Texas to begin seminary training at ACU. After a year in the program she moved my classes online to begin work with Taylor and Barefoot Mission. Her passion for ministry lies in hospitality and the marginalized of her community. In her free time she loves cuddling with her dog, Darcy, thrifting, baking, finding new murals with Madi and learning latte art.
Madi just moved to Kansas City from Nashville TN, where she completed her bachelor's degree in Ministry from Lipscomb University. She is stoked to be working with Barefoot Mission and in the Grounded Sole Coffeehouse! She is passionate about Jesus, His people, and His presence, and seeing hearts transformed by the Gospel. She absolutely love working with kids and youth and can best be described as a forever camp counselor.
